Asking for a hand up to save my house by Aug 1

Hi,

My name is Tammy Tripler, I live on a small island off the coast of Maine. It's so difficult being the one who needs help, I am usually the one trying to help others, but I am desperately trying to save my home.

Without the $42,000 my home will be auctioned off on Aug.1st.

I helped my ex-husband build this house, putting in every door and window. Needing to get the rest of it done, we were foolishly talked into a predatory loan with a lender that the government ran out of business, we were dumped to one just as bad. My ex-husband

left just 8 years into the loan, and through our divorce was supposed to pay over half the amount of each mortgage payment in lieu of alimony, but has not been able to do so.

I was able to enter a bankruptcy agreement in 2021 with help from GoFundMe and private help, but couldn't keep up with the double payment,especially after losing two of my part-time jobs. I battled Breast Cancer in 2019, after losing a brother to Cancer in 2017 and another last year. I try to be a good person, I volunteer as an EMT, help with kids programs and in any way I can to give back. I work several part time seasonal jobs , and will begin working at our Nursery School again, after it having been closed 3 years due to Covid.

I have been turned down for a loan modification because of the existing foreclosure, and was unable to get assistance from the Town, as I don't fit the guidelines.

I am willing to paint, bake, do crafts, create floral arrangements, photograph ( I am only an amateur) to help repay my ask.

I know it's asking the impossible with the time frame, but if you can help, please, please do.

I house share with 2 of my daughters, one works at the ferry, and the other lost her job during Covid, but has been a big help with projects like replacing the back of our roof after it nearly caved in almost 2 years ago.

The high amount is due in part to late fees, legal fees etc.

With there being no housing available here on Swan's Island, or anywhere in Hancock County, I don't know where I could go.

I also can't bear the thought of this home that I helped build will be lost to me forever, because of my stupidity in agreeing to such a loan and to lost work and wages.

I am treading water, but only have 16 short days for miracle...I still believe in miracles, hoping that I will have one .
