Asking for help as a victim of crime..

Hi my name is Rebecca, I am embarrassed to have to ask for help, but I have no other idea how I can possibly get mobile again after what happened to me on bonfire night.

I found out on Sunday, 6th November, that my car had been stolen by joyriders who proceeded to race it and smash it into other cars before finally torching it at a nearby park. My car was 31 years old and had previously belonged to my grandmother, and I had kept it on the road for 18 years.

It was really rather special, as an old car and would get photographed frequently, so I was devasted at this completely pointless destruction.

But the worst was yet to come.. I had paid a considerable amount of money over the years to keep it running, and now I wish I hadn't bothered as the insurance company have valued it at next to nothing and with the excess taken off it leaves virtually nothing for me to buy another car.

I used my car to get me to my second job as like many people during the cost of living crisis we are trying everything we can to make ends meet, and now I have been forced to give that up until I can get another car. Not only that but I live in Manchester and my elderly mother who is unwell as she has had a stroke and has parkinsons lives over 100 miles away in a remote location in a different city and now even with public transport it makes it extremely difficult and expensive to visit her and I will not be able to visit her at Christmas which is just so upsetting.

I don't really hold out much hope of getting any help at all but I thought I'd try this just in case anyone can help at all with anything. I'm not after anything other than a cheap road-worthy car so I can get back to work and be able to visit my mum.
