Asking help for medical bills (cancer).
Donation protected
In June of 2020 Tony went into the ER after experiencing pain in his lower spine and pelvis area. Thinking it was just a pulled muscle or torn tendon, they did a CT scan and it was determined that he had cancer. After several CT scan’s, PET Scan’s, MRI’s and a bone marrow biopsy, it was confirmed that he had cancer in his lower spine and pelvis area and that it had attached itself to the bones. After the biopsy results came back it was also confirmed that it was Multiple Myeloma.
Multiple Myeloma is a type of white blood cell in the bone marrow that becomes cancerous and multiplies, usually attaching itself to the spine and eating at the bones, it can also cause damage to the immune system, kidneys and red blood cell count.
Unfortunately, though, Myeloma is currently an incurable (terminal) cancer. Myeloma is a relapsing-remitting cancer. However, with better technology and medicines the life expectancy is now 20+ years.
Tony has gone through 30 radiation treatments, 16 chemo shots, several CT and Pet scan’s over the summer months. On December 26 he was admitted to the hospital for his stem cell transplant where he spent 17 days.
After all his treatments, stem cell transplant and months of recovery I am proud to say that he is in remission and doing great. He is now being monitored closely and is on continuous meds to keep the cancer from coming back.
After all he has endured over the past 10 months and the unexpected expenses we are asking for your help.
