Hello, Brothers and Sisters!
I hope this message finds you all in good health and spirits. My name is Hilario, and I want to extend my warmest greetings to each and every one of you. For those who have yet to meet me, I am a traditional shaman from the Philippines, residing in The Hague, Netherlands. I am dedicated to sharing healing massage for the body and mind, as well as spiritual wisdom and knowledge through holistic and shamanic methodologies.
My journey began within a family of traditional healers, where my granny played a significant role in guiding me. As a child, I witnessed the incredible healing power she possessed and the relief she brought to people's physical and metaphysical-spiritual ailments. I was always curious and inquisitive, asking her countless questions. She would grace me with beautiful and magical answers, fueling my passion to learn her craft. The shamanic techniques that she imparted to me had been passed down through generations, learned from her own mother.
Traditionally, this wisdom is inherited by the next generation. However, my mother and her siblings chose not to continue the work. Recognizing my interest, my Grandmother secretly began teaching me, as she knew my deep desire to follow in her footsteps. I began my serious training at the age of 12. By the time I turned 16, I studied reflexology and obtained a diploma to appease my mother's concerns about my involvement in physical treatments. Little did she know that it was my disguise to continue learning my granny's art.
In 2013, I received an invitation to work as a chef cook in The Netherlands. During this time, my grandmother suffered a stroke, rendering half of her body immobile. Yet, her dedication to her healing duties for the community remained unwavering. I believe her compassion and the absence of anyone else continuing her work were the driving forces behind her perseverance. Fortunately, we had Facebook as a means to stay connected, and she encouraged me to forge ahead, trusting in the process and myself, as I would be guided by God and those who loved me and valued my work as a shaman.
Witnessing my grandmother in such a state was heart-wrenching. Nevertheless, she entrusted me with the full responsibility to carry on her legacy. At the time, I had just become a new father to my firstborn son, and I was unsure of how to navigate my newfound role as a shaman. However, fueled by her compassion and unwavering determination, my dream to be like her and continue our healing art ignited within me. I began offering Hilot healing massages in The Hague while working as a cook. In September 2014, my grandmother passed away, solidifying the realization that the path of a shaman was now my own responsibility.
In 2018, I took a leap of faith and opened a massage place, despite my limited knowledge of business management. Unfortunately, the outbreak of COVID-19 disrupted operations, causing all my small investments to vanish.
When the situation improved, and I was able to resume my work, I collaborated with various individuals. I was delighted to witness the positive reactions and feedback from people who experienced the transformative effects of indigenous Filipino healing massages.
Through my work, I assist individuals in regaining a sense of self-love, self-care, and inner peace, enabling them to navigate their everyday lives with calmness. It became clear to me that I should promote these healing practices under the core intention of Hilotmaharlikan and establish a shamanic and holistic retreat center.
I am filled with courage and enthusiasm as I witness the profound healing and life-changing transformations that occur through my art. At one point, I met a businessman who expressed interest in investing and developing the business side of my work. Unfortunately, unexpected conflicts caused his company to go bankrupt, leaving me once again on my own. I contemplated whether I should continue offering my services.
Despite the setbacks, I couldn't ignore the call to seek a new funder. After an extensive search for a new location, I stumbled upon an old building in the city center—a perfect place for my work and its purpose. This beautiful space, located at Stille Veerkade 25, 2512 BE Den Haag, is where I currently practice and aspire to establish the first Filipino shamanic and holistic retreat center, Hilotmaharlikan Temple.
Before securing this space, my friend and funder unexpectedly withdrew their support, leaving me burdened with three months' rent in advance and a deposit, totaling 8,000 euros. It was a challenging situation that tested my resolve. Nonetheless, I believed in my vision and took the risk, even resorting to a loan to cover the initial payment. To this day, I continue to struggle to meet the rent obligations, despite the center gradually gaining momentum.
In my current reality, I need to collect 4,000 euros to achieve financial stability and harmony. That is why I am humbly seeking your help, my dear Brothers and Sisters.
Within Hilotmaharlikan, I offer various healing modalities, encompassing not just massage, but also sound healing ceremonies, men and women healing circles, breathwork, yoga, cacao ceremonies, life coaching, and workshops on Filipino Hilot healing massage for those interested in learning our indigenous healing practices.
As a shaman, I wholeheartedly offer my expertise, wisdom, and knowledge to anyone seeking healing, rejuvenation, and inner peace. Money is not my sole motivation or the driving force behind my work. In fact, I often provide donation-based healing massages, especially to those who are not yet able to afford compensation. This sustains me in my own livelihood. For instance, every Monday from 10:00 to 13:00, our doors are open to anyone willing to give what their heart desires, whether it be a bag of candles, incense, a small monetary contribution, or even without anything at all. I sincerely provide my services from the depths of my heart, detached from materialistic desires, possessions, or self-gain.
Now, I appeal to your hearts, my Brothers and Sisters. I am aiming to raise 4,000 euros to cover the rent of the Hilotmaharlikan premises. Once this goal is achieved, I would love to celebrate and express my gratitude by offering a one-time 50% discount on all our healing massages and ceremonies for all the donors. Your support is not only an investment in my work but also an investment in your own well-being.
As a human being, I strive to create balance and harmony between my spiritual work and my physical reality in terms of sustenance. I thank each and every one of you from the depths of my soul, and I hope to welcome you to Hilotmaharlikan at Stille Veerkade 25, 2512 BE Den Haag. I encourage you to visit and experience the essence of this special place firsthand.
Lastly, I invite you to join me on July 21, 2023, for Tea Meditation with sound healing from 17:00 to 19:00. During this event, you will have the opportunity to experience our Hilot healing massage services from 10:00 to 15:00.
Please share this message with your friends and family, and if you recommend our services to them, it would greatly assist me in reaching the target amount I need. As a token of gratitude, for their first visit, they will receive a 10% discount on all our massage services. I assure you that you will not regret recommending us, as we approach our work with sincerity, honesty, love, and compassion.
Thank you, Brothers and Sisters, for taking the time to read my story and consider supporting me. Your assistance will help me continue the legacy of my granny, bringing healing and positive transformation to those in need.
With utmost sincerity,
Hilario A. Robis
