"The Ugly Tie Contest"

The Ugly Tie Contest is a celebration of friendship, love and camaraderie. Friends from High School and Jr. High decided to make it a point to get together once a year for an event called “The Ugly Tie Contest”.

This year we are celebrating the 30th annual “Ugly Tie Contest” and most of us will turn 50 years old. We wanted to make a one-hour documentary, of our journey of 30 years of friendship, debauchery and hardships.

This tradition started in 1994. When seven friends decided to get dressed up and go to the "Spaghetti Factory" for lunch. To celebrate our friend's 21st birthday.

But the reality was we all looked like bums, with the ugliest ties imaginable.

From that point on, we decided that every year we were going to go back and see who had the ugliest tie. We got the staff to become the judges in elimination rounds, and a tradition was born.

Hopefully, A new generation of friends can come together once a year, to honor each other’s accomplishments and to spend one day talking about the great time you had as teenagers just like we have done.
