(EN) Some of the closest people to my heart are affected by this cruel disease. Due to its rareness, awareness is also limited and any small gesture I can make to give visibility can help. Many will know that recently, I have become passionate about running and undertaken 2 half marathons over the past year. But now, in aid of this cause, I plan to run the whole distance and run Malaga Marathon in December 2025 (42.2km or 26.2miles). It is safe to say that the thought of being at the finish line of a half marathon and running it all again is a daunting one. BUT, with the logo of this charity on my back and the support of you all, I know I will run (or possibly crawl towards the end) every metre with gratitude.

What is CADASIL?

CADASIL is a rare, hereditary disease causing recurrent strokes, migraines, cognitive impairment and other neurological symptoms. Currently there is no cure.

Why support ACE?

The charities principal objectives in raising money are to fund clinical trials in order to investigate and find a cure as well as supporting those diagnosed with CADASIL and their caregivers.

Debido a su rareza, la concienciación también es limitada y cualquier pequeño gesto que pueda hacer para dar visibilidad puede ayudar. Muchos sabrán que recientemente comenzó mi afición por correr y participé en 2 medias maratones durante el último año. Por eso ahora, para ayudar a esta causa, planeo correr toda la distancia y correr el Maratón de Málaga en diciembre de 2025 (42,2 km). Es seguro decir que la idea de estar en la meta de una media maratón y correrla toda de nuevo es desalentadora. PERO, con el logo de esta organización benéfica en mi espalda y el apoyo de todos ustedes, sé que correré (o posiblemente me arrastraré hacia el final) cada metro con gratitud.

¿Que es CADASIL?

CADASIL es una enfermedad hereditaria rara que causa accidentes cerebrovasculares recurrentes, migrañas, deterioro cognitivo y otros síntomas neurológicos. Actualmente no existe cura.

¿Por qué apoyar a ACE?

Los principales objetivos de la organización benéfica al recaudar dinero son financiar ensayos clínicos para investigar y encontrar una cura, así como apoyar a las personas diagnosticadas con CADASIL y a sus cuidadores.
