As I sit here today I can’t help but fill my eyes with tears feeling at a complete loss for what to do. For those who may know Aspen, broke and fractured both her Radius and ulna due to bad weather conditions. The backyard completely frozen up to our fence and the dogs leash under ice I let her out for just a quick potty not imagining much could happen. To prove me wrong within 2 minutes I turn to let the dog back in and can’t see her. Being the snow conditions were like a blizzard I couldn’t see much to begin with so trying to find out how it all even happened is unknown. What I do know for sure is how it ended was the dogs arm was twisted in our garden fencing parallel to our normal fence and when trying to untangle herself and slid over, she cut open her arm and made a gauge along with fracturing her arm in two spots assuming when she fell down on the ice.
Even though accidents happen, I wasn’t prepared for this one to cost me a savings. What we thought was going to just be a sprain and need some rest along with stitches for the arm, turned into much more when she still couldn’t walk on it the next day. Coming to find out after an emergency trip to Oakwood hills Saturday morning that she would be walking out with a splint, 3 different pain meds and antibiotics, and a sedated husky who had x rays confirming the damage stated above with her leg. After speaking with Mission animal hospital Sunday morning, and afternoon, they decided surgery happens on Tuesday.
This has put a financial bind on me and my son using up my savings, and delaying the job I am supposed to have started this week. Although I’m fortunate for my ability to save money, I’ll be wiped negative after this surgery.
This dog is my everything, my first baby, and my sons best friend.
I’m grateful for anything even if it’s just a prayer.
Thank you for your time, and prayers! ❣️
