Aspen Myers' Heart Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you are aware, Aspen has been struggling (with a smile on her face) with heart failure for much of her adult life. After many months of waiting, she finally got her heart transplant this week. Her brand new heart took a little waking up, which required her to undergo an additional operation to help her body adjust to the new heart in a more controlled fashion. Her recovery, as with all major heart surgeries, is likely to be a long road.
Aspen is a light to the entire community. She teaches special education at Mt. Si High School, where she is an ever-present example of good will, patience, and peace. Her husband Karl works at Mt. Si High as well, teaching PE, coaching baseball, and overall keeping about a thousand kids in line. Aspen is a fighter, and her tenacity will undoubtedly play a role in her recovery.
She will be out of work for an extended period of time, and the medical bills will be substantial. As a community, we want to rally around the Myers family and do anything we can to ease their financial burden during this turbulent time. 100% of your donation will go directly to their family. Thank you for your kindness.
