Aspen's Top Surgery Recovery Fund

Aspen is a transmasculine nonbinary wizard seeking medically necessary surgery to alleviate gender dysphoria and the physical health challenges that come with having excess breast tissue. He has been living openly as trans since 2017, began hormone therapy in 2020, and is updating his legal name in 2022. For the time being, he wears a chest compression binder to assist with being perceived as more masculine. Unfortunately, not only is this is uncomfortable, but it can also have dangerous complications in the long term. He is now pursuing top surgery recommended by his doctors. While he is insured, he will still have to pay a good portion of costs out of pocket, including travel to the surgery location, recovery care, and taking time off work. At 28 years old, he regrets not starting this process sooner! It is of the utmost importance that he achieves this goal!

Some of the benefits he is looking forward to after top surgery include: relief from lower back strain, chest pain, breathing issues, improved posture, and increased self-confidence! It's a win overall!

Some life plans he is excited to accomplish next: moving back to Los Angeles, recording and producing an album, getting back into cosplay/costume design, writing a fantasy novel, and creating more art in general!

Aspen has come a long way and has already worked very hard to create a life he can be happy with! He is excited for the hope and possibility that the future holds, and he is grateful for whatever kind of support you are able to give! The past few years have been strenuous and emotionally taxing, but this hardship taught him valuable lessons about the importance of life itself, especially for anyone who deviates from social and cultural norms.
