Assist a Helper on Her Healing Journey

I was lucky to grow up with terrific humans as parents, people who always did what they could to help those around them… I try my best to follow in their footsteps. It feels good to help people…. Taking in the family who’s house burned down, being a bunny for an animal rescue, giving what I can of my time and money… giving a family who’s didn’t have extra money Greta’s fancy canopy toddler bed and seeing the little girl beaming…I did a huge gift drive at Christmas and got every child at Devereux who didn’t go home for Christmas sponsored by total strangers (and I worked with adults at the time) I just love trying to help, which is why I went to nursing school. Helping feels natural and normal to me, this is so hard…

That’s why this hurts so much, feels so unnatural, and stupid when I see the terrible things my friends and family have had to endure… but I need to swallow my pride and admit I need help.

I tried and spent a humiliating couple hours at social services attempting to get help to be told that child support is enough to live on and to deal with it.

My situation is now short term, I have insurance approval for a trial spinal stimulator. The tentative date is April 1st, but I’m hoping someone cancels so I can have it implanted earlier.

With the broken ribs, the major back issues, and having to move so suddenly in September I’m stuck and just need a boost to get to the finish line.

The only thing stopping my life from moving in the direction I hope (being a nurse finally) but now I finally have a light at the end of the tunnel.

It sounds pathetic that I’m not working but as I was sitting with a friend in the er last night the pain from sitting in a chair was enough to almost make me cry…. But there is hope!

So I’m asking if anyone has the means, or if they get that feeling when helping others like I do… whatever your motivation I would appreciate help.

I also feels stupid for just asking for a handout so if someone donates I need their address for a random gift made by Greta and I to show our appreciation.
