ASSIST, short film by Rasika Mathur

It’s never too early, and never too late, to pursue a dream that you know will make a difference. This is why I’ll be filming a funny and heartwarming short film about me and my mom in January.

I’m the writer, producer, and actor in the film. I’m also mega excited to share that I’ve partnered with Amy Tompkins (Director of Ideal Husband, Stars In The Water ) who will direct the film. And my co-star? Yup, you guessed it. My dear dear mom.

Not to get too dark here (it’s a comedy, afterall!) but I have to make this film while she’s still here to participate and watch this homage to her.

You joining my efforts won’t just make it possible to create this incredibly personal (and funny!) film, but you’ll also be launching me into a lifetime of creating equally personal and beautiful films and shows.

The funds I raise will be used to cover the crew, equipment, transportation, food, set/costumes/hair & makeup, post-production and festival submissions.

It’s time to do what I’ve always wanted to do. If you join me on this one, I’ll never forget that you did.
