Hello, my name is Caroline. I hope you’re all safe and doing well. Thankfully, I’m safe from the storm now.

I left my full-time job in Charlotte, NC, to go back to school full-time in Asheville, NC. As an adult student, I was in the process of starting a work-study job, but that’s been washed away with the storm. Hurricane Helene has hit Asheville hard.

The hurricane has caused UNCA to close, which has really affected my situation. On top of that, Asheville's power won’t be restored until Friday, October 4th, and it could take weeks for water to come back. UNCA won’t be reopening until October 14th and classes will not resume until October 28th, leaving me in a tough spot.

Now, I’m facing bills and extra costs that I wasn’t prepared for—without a way to pay. I am asking for any help to cover these expenses while I wait for things to get back to normal. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be a huge help in getting me through this tough time. And if you can’t donate, just sharing this would mean the world!
