Assist Chelsea's Family Through Cancer Treatments
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Chelsea, and I am writing this for my parents who are currently working through cancer treatments.
Both of my parents have been diagnosed with cancer, within weeks of one another. Something that I never thought would happen to either one, happened to both. My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer and my father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has metastasized to his spine. My mother has had to go onto FMLA, which means she does not get paid for the days she does not work, as she has already used up all of her vacation and sick days. This is due to the fact that the chemotherapy has made her extremely weak, nauseous, and tired. I have been assisting, when possible, in cooking, cleaning, and daily activities that healthy people can complete. My father has been taking medication that has made him extremely tired as well, even though he has been working. The medical bills are starting to accumulate and will continue to come in throughout their treatments. Although they have insurance, my mother still has to pay for her portion of her insurance even though she is not being paid when she cannot work. Just prior to my parents being diagnosed with cancer, they purchased a very small home that is a fixer-upper, and the home did not even have all the appliances in operating condition.
We are asking for some assistance until my mother is able to go back to work full time in order to help pay the medical bills for both of them.
Please note: I do understand there is an additional fee for donating. Please feel free to reach out to Chelsea directly if you would like to make a contribution.
