Help Faraway Inn owners after the devastation of Helene
Donation protected
Hurricane Helene has decimated much of the west coast of Florida, especially the Big Bend area including Cedar Key, Florida. This beautiful, old Florida little town has lost the use of all businesses, including restaurants, shops, market, bait & tackles and many motels and other short-term rentals. Tourism is the town's main source of income and with all the damage the ability to host any tourists has been crippled.
Our family(my cousin) has owned the Faraway Inn for three years. In the last 12 months they have experienced damage from Hurricanes Idalia, Debby and now Helene. My cousin, Aimee Firestine and her family were able to recover all but one building from the damage of Idalia & Debby but now Helene has caused 100% destruction of the property. The buildings will need to be demolished in the next month.
Aimee and her family depended 100% on their income earned from managing and running the Faraway Inn. We are setting up this fundraiser to assist in the recovery process of the cleanup around their home and to help with finances until they can all find other employment. Unfortunately, with all the damage in the area, many people will be looking for alternative employment and the search will be more difficult than if there were not just a major natural disaster.
If you would like to help Aimee and her family during this difficult time, please donate here. All funds will be used by Aimee and her family as they deal with this terrible loss.
