Assist George in His Heart Transplant Recovery

Donation protected
Dear family and friends,

I want to tell you about my brother, George. He is an amazing father, son, brother, and friend. Those that know him know to expect a joke, a laugh, and a passion for music. He has been a music teacher for the past 30 years, primarily for the Kelso School District. He has made a difference in so many children’s lives, as shown by their heartfelt letters we were lucky to receive. For me, he has been my best friend, protector, and confidant for my entire life.

On September 19th, George went to the hospital due to back pain. It was quickly identified as heart issues, and he was rushed to OHSU in Portland. In a very short time, it was discovered that his heart was too weak to operate on, and he was placed on the transplant list. We were amazed and thankful that in just 1-2 days, a heart was found! The team operated the next day. We are forever grateful for the family who lost a loved one and thought of others during their time of grief.

George is currently in the ICU as they stabilize his new heart. As you can imagine, this puts a lot of financial strain on the family. We would appreciate any help you can provide for bills, gas to go back and forth to the hospital, etc.
