Assist in Creating a Safe Haven for Loving Mother
Donation protected
We survived the disaster that Hurricane Helene left in WNC, but it has left my mother without a home. I am in need of assistance giving her a safe place to call home. Her home of 30+ years has major structural damage, the foundation sank on one end of the home from all of the water during the storm. Now the kitchen is about to separate from the rest of the house. You literally walk down a hill on that spot, and it continues to get worse every day. There was also damage to the roof from a big tree that caused multiple broken trusses and a few big holes in the roof and ceiling. We tarped the roof, but even the smallest of winds blow it off again, leaving the home exposed to the rain and snow. The landlord hasn't done a single repair yet, so we are dealing with lots of damage to her belongings from all of the moisture. Our plan is to get her into a tiny home on my property and out of that house before it falls in on itself. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. The tiny home will become her permanent residence.
Funds will be used to:
◾Fix septic drain field(damaged during the storm)
◾Connect tiny home to electric
◾Connect tiny home to pre-existing septic tank
◾Storage unit to hold her belongings while we get tiny home set up
◾Furnish tiny home
I have been doing as much as I can myself to avoid costs. I have already dug up the septic lids and plan on digging the trench for the septic lines.
I will post the estimates that I have gotten so far. All local businesses are backed up since the storm and it has taken a while to get them.
