Kerri’s Last Wishes

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lisa and I am fundraising to pay for cremation and any outstanding bills for the most incredible person to walk this planet. I may be biased (she was my sister) but you can ask other family members, friends, coworkers, acquaintances, nurses and doctors and strangers who quickly became a friend, even if it was for just a few minutes, what an amazing person she was.
Kerri had a way of touching everyone’s heart. She was always giving her time, lending an ear, making sure there were giggles to be had every where she went.

Kerri started not feeling well in December. By January she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. She had one round of chemo, developed blood clots in the lungs. Had those removed and was put on blood thinners. Was allergic to that and put on different blood thinner medication. Platelets were too low for chemo to continue so they had to wait for those numbers to come up. They didn’t so she was admitted to the hospital to have a platelet transfusion. Last Saturday she had a massive stroke. The clot was removed from her brain, but her platelets continued to drop, even with transfusions, so chemo was off the table. Kerri had a mass on her lungs which was either a blood clot or another tumor. Basically, the cancer or another blood clot was going to kill her. She had the worst of the worst type of cancer and something called DIC which basically means her cancer was “sticky” so even with blood thinners, blood clots are hard to stop. We had a family care meeting on Thursday and it was a punch to the gut. They said that there was nothing else they could try and she had days to weeks to live. By Thursday evening they were saying maybe a week. Was quickly became days and by Friday morning she just had hours left to live. Kerri herself and family were about to start getting her affairs in order thinking she had months to a few years to fight this monster of a cancer, but were quickly proved wrong.
Kerri lost her life yesterday, Saturday April 20th. We are shattered.
There will forever be a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.
Today I have to start living my life without my sister, Kerri. It will be an entirely different life. She was always the first person I’d call when I had news to share, a joke to tell or just to throw sarcasm back and forth to each other.

If you feel it in your heart to donate to our cause to grant Kerri her final wishes for cremation and to take care of any outstanding bills that come up, we will be eternally grateful. Anything will help.
