In Memory of Jami Ponte

My name is Jessica Buick. I’m Jami’s sister-in-law (Julie’s sister).

Yesterday, April 14, 2024, Jami Ponte unexpectedly passed away due to complications from Type 1 Diabetes.

Many people have already reached out to ask how they can help. That is why I created this fund.

As many of you know, this beautiful family already suffered a tragic loss just two years ago. It is unimaginable that they will now have to navigate yet another one.

Jami was a loyal, hard-working, patient man who devoted everything to his family without asking for anything in return. You could always find him working around his yard or on Jaylee’s car, and he was there in a heartbeat for anyone who needed a hand. Like his sweet son, Brodi, he was also willing to give his last dime to someone who he believed needed it more than him.

This fund will be used to help support Julie and Jaylee as they walk this difficult path forward. Jami was on his way home from Idaho, where he was taking care of some family matters, when he passed away. The money raised here will help bring him back home and provide some financial relief so Julie can take time off as needed. It will also be used to help fund any grief and loss support they need, as well as Jaylee’s future educational expenses. She is getting ready to graduate from high school in just a few months.

Even if you are unable to financially support, Julie and Jaylee will need an abundance of emotional support in the months and years to come. Please shower them with love as they navigate this difficult road together. Don’t be afraid to send the text, make the phone call, or to talk about Jami (and Brodi). It is much appreciated.
