My brother,Lee Harr unexpectedly passed away 11/12/24 at the age of 41. He was a father, son, uncle, brother, grandson, cousin and best friend. He was always making someone laugh or smile with his contagious sense of humor and jokes. We are all completely devastated, shocked and lost.
My brother and I grew up in Tennessee, which is where he remained until his tragic passing. Our mother has lived 5 hours away at a local skilled nursing facility(VA) for 4 years. She has suffered several strokes which has impaired her physical abilities and has Covid induced dementia since 2020. Her short term memory is affected mostly, but her love, memories and mind are very aware of who is family and usually always recognizes children/grandchildren . She is physically unable to do most activities of daily living without assistance.
She desperately wants to attend her only son’s service and say her goodbye. We have no way of taking her this long trip without wheelchair van. I am an RN and am able to provide all her medical and other care so that’s not an issue at all. Her grand daughter Paisley often takes care of her as well.
If anyone could assist us, it’d mean the world to her and us to be able to grieve as a family. It was our parents and us growing up and we were a very tight unit. Our father also has advanced cancer/medical issues and is already in TN, where he resides, waiting for us to arrive.
If unable to help at all, we completely understand as times are very tough for everyone. However, prayers are just as important for our family as navigate this heartbreak.
