Assist Nico in Giving John a Dignified Farewell
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Nico. I am currently raising funds in memory of my stepfather, John “Tomcat” Haynes, who passed away on Thursday, the 9th, at the age of 81. Four years ago, John was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, a condition that progressively impaired his ability to recognize names and faces, leading to significant confusion and frustration. As the disease advanced, John's temperament changed, and he became more aggressive, posing increased challenges for my mother, who had been his devoted caregiver throughout his illness.
Regrettably, our financial constraints prevented us from securing professional nursing care for John, placing the full burden of his care on my mother’s shoulders. Despite the financial hardships and the demanding role of a full-time caregiver, she tended to him with unwavering love until his last breath.
Our financial difficulties have been compounded by the fact that insurance did not cover the full cost of John’s cremation. Our greatest wish is to honor him with a dignified farewell, yet the financial means to do so remain out of our reach.
In sharing our story, we aim to highlight the substantial challenges that families face when caring for loved ones with dementia. It’s a journey marked not only by emotional strain but also by significant financial burdens. We seek to foster understanding and compassion towards those in similar caregiving roles.
In tribute to John, we kindly ask for your support through donations. Your contribution would profoundly impact our ability to celebrate his life and legacy in a manner he deserves. Thank you for considering our plea during this difficult time.
