I am writing on behalf of a colleague who recently lost their position as a therapist in our community.

After dedicating their career to helping others, they now need our help.

The mental health community in our state is a “small world” and so I’m sure many of you know who this campaign is for. We are trying to be mindful of legalities in posting on social media about sensitive topics.

Suffice to say, being unexpectedly let go from your full time job is a difficult burden to bare.

Because this termination was completely unexpected (and due to an unfair noncompete clause) they are faced with the heartbreaking question of how they will buy groceries next month.

The FTC voted to ban noncompete agreements like this. It was set to be in effect *THIS WEEK* on September 4th, but a court blocked it in a ruling on August 20th.

If you have worked in our field, you know this situation all too well. You may have seen it before with your colleagues. It isn’t right.

Groceries, utilities, and legal fees are likely to add up before they’ll be able to find a suitable job in a reasonable location.

Please help my friend make ends meet until then.
