Assist Robinson’s Manor Residents After Fire

Donazione protetta
Robinson’s Manor is a small assisted living facility in Altadena for adults with disabilities and autism run by Laura Robinson and her daughter Retha.

The boys home on Altadena Drive was burned down during the devastating Eaton Canyon fire. Luckily, all the house members were safely evacuated to a hotel. But their home is gone. I can only imagine how difficult this will be for the residents. They all rely on a consistent routine to feel safe and each have specific needs. This will be a huge adjustment.
For decades in Altadena, Robinson’s Manor has helped residents feel independent and like family.

My sister, who is autistic, has lived there since she was 18. She loves her home, roommates and the Robinsons. The Robinsons attended her high school graduation, help her attend an adult day program, take her to church, make BBQs, and celebrate holidays. The Robinsons help residents with aid in and out of the shower, dressing assistance, toileting, washing, hygiene and offer the convenience of a traveling barber or stylist. They eat three homemade meals a day. And they enjoy music therapy, pet therapy, field trips, and an adult day program. Even caregivers need assistance now and then.

We are forever grateful to the Robinsons for their selflessness and continual endless compassion. They do difficult work to help people with disabilities have their independence and dignity.

Please donate to help the Robinsons and their charges rebuild, readjust, and relocate.

Love,
Esther
