Hi, my name is Becky Tooley. On September 6th, around 4am, my husband Jason and myself woke up to the fire alarm blaring at us. Jason jumped out of bed to see what was going on. Exiting our bedroom he noticed the smoke throughout the ceiling of the house. Looking past the living room and dining room, smoke and flames were seen from the breezeway. As he yelled "THERE IS A FIRE'! I grabbed the kids and ran out the back door of our bedroom. Jason grabbed the fire extinguisher and did his best to put out the fire. The smoke was so bad throughout the room, he got out of the house. Outside we called 911. The flames were still present in the window. We grabbed some landscaping rocks to break the windows, turned on the hose and tried to finish putting out the fire while we waited for the fire department. The fire department was able to save our rabbits and finish putting out the fire!
The fire damage to the house is actually not that bad but unfortunately the smoke damage is atrocious. The fire is still unknown of why it started. So we have clothes! But most all of our stuff with have to be thrown away due to the smoke damage. All mattresses and pillows, our couch and furniture. We are getting estimates to see what the repairs will be but our timeline to move back in the house may be 6 months or longer. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Please keep us in your prayers!
