Assist with Cordelia Holland's Funeral Costs

My mother, Cordelia E. Holland, has been battling diabetes for twenty years. She has suffered from heart failure and multiple surgeries due to her diabetes.

For the last two years, she has been treated for dry gangrene on her right big toe. This resulted from clipping her own toenails and cutting the skin. It never healed.

On July 18th, they amputated half of my mother's right foot, which had become infected with maggots, causing a septic infection. They tried to treat it with antibiotics. The three different types of antibiotics are what damaged my mother's kidneys.

The hospital discontinued all life-sustaining medications on July 29 and sent her home with hospice care.

I am devastated by the turn of events and undoubtedly not prepared for the high cost of planning a funeral at this time financially. This was unexpected. Although my mother's health had seen better days, she was not dying.

My mother was a mother to many. Always opening her home to help others in need. She may not have had much at times, but she was always willing to share what she had. My mother did not have a fancy job with a title, but she worked just as hard raising her family, instilling in her family and friends faith, integrity, accountability, and most of all, compassion.

I am asking my community to please help support my mother by donating what you can towards the burial of my mother, Cordelia Holland. Everything and anything is greatly appreciated.

We were planning to take my son to college on August 18th. Now we are being told to plan my mother's funeral.

My mother is barely alive. She is unable to cough up the fluid that is filling up in her lungs, and her kidneys are shutting down. She is experiencing moments of delusions due to the toxins building up in her blood. She no longer eats or drinks. She has a catheter placed for incontinence, as she is only awake for a few minutes at a time when she does wake. This has been the hardest thing I had to do... Watching my mother die.
