Assist with Frank Gatto's Cremation Expenses

I received a call this Thanksgiving morning, 11/28/24, that my youngest brother, Frank (Francis David Gatto), was found deceased last night from an apparent overdose. While I haven't had contact with my brother in the last 21 years, I had heard about Frank's struggles from my other siblings, and am hoping that Frank is finally at peace. This struggle probably started in Frank's early 20s, and continued until his death yesterday at 58. Frank was most likely bi-polar and probably used alcohol and drugs to self-medicate. I believe in being open about this kind of stuff in the hopes that it may help someone else struggling with drug use or dealing with a friend/family member struggling with drug use. It is not an easy path no matter which side you're on, and sometimes just a kind word can make the difference. With Frank, many people tried for years to get him help, and sometimes he took advantage of those opportunities, but unfortunately his addiction would always win. Frank was a very talented musician and sound engineer, and I often wonder what amazing contributions he could have made if he didn't have that constant struggle with addiction. Needless to say, Frank died without a will or any kind of an estate, bank account, funds, etc., and I don't have the funds to cover the cost of the cremation, and am asking for help in making this happen. I'm using Philadelphia Cremation Society, the same organization that handled my mother's cremation when she died a few years ago. The total cost would be $1065 ($995 transfer and cremation; $50 Bucks County cremation permit; $20 death certificate). Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Gwen Gatto
