Assist with Funeral Costs for Dear Father

Donation protected
Roger was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in November. He underwent both radiation and chemotherapy, but sadly the cancer spread into his spine and then progressed into his brain. After the cancer spread to his brain, Roger began to decline rapidly and while we thought we would have a few years, they turned into only months. In July, Roger had to be admitted to the hospital again, and then released into hospice care at home. And then the months we thought we would have turned into days. None of us were prepared for such a sudden and quick loss, and would appreciate any help that would ease the financial burden this has placed upon his children and family.

Thank you,
The Lockey Family

Our father lost his battle with cancer and we were not expecting the cost of funeral and burial services to be so high. We are asking for a donation to help ease the burden of the costs of laying our father to rest. Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated.

Roger James Lockey, known affectionately as "Roger Dodger," passed away on July 18, 2024, at the age of 58. He was born on December 23, 1965, in Charleston, SC, and had been residing in Summerville, SC.

Roger was a talented commercial carpenter, dedicated to his craft and known for his skill and attention to detail. He lived by the motto, "If you don't work, you don't eat," and his strong work ethic was an inspiration to those around him.

Outside of his profession, Roger had a passion for music. He enjoyed listening to bands such as Tesla, Van Halen, Metallica, and Motley Crue. He also had a love for football and would eagerly cheer for his favorite teams.

Roger's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind his children, Toran (Heather), Jacob (Danielle), Benjamin (Jordan), and Olivia (Joshua), all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His grandchildren, Scarlett, Violet, Autumn, Emmalynn, Gabriella, Grayson, Eden, Clement, Flynn, Nolan, Cheryl, and Jonah, were the light of his life.

Known for his patience, love, kindness, and generosity, Roger impacted the lives of everyone he met. He was a source of wisdom and compassion, always willing to lend a helping hand. His humble nature, combined with his sense of humor and good looks, made him a beloved figure in the lives of his friends and family.
