Assist with Patrick Myers' Final Farewell

On December 19th, my father, Brent Myers, reached out to his younger but wiser-in-many-ways brother, Patrick Belton Myers. When he couldn’t get in touch, my cousin Shawn Myers, Pat's nephew, had a sinking feeling. Concerned, we asked Uncle Robbie to check on Pat. Just days earlier, on December 15th, Pat had celebrated his birthday. The last person to speak with him was William Brently Myers. Tragically, Uncle Robbie discovered that Pat had passed away around 6 PM.
My father and I rushed to Rowena and William "Snookie" Myers Sr.'s home, a place we’ve always known as 626 Williams Circle. The loss has left us heartbroken.
Pat was a kind and loving soul. For nearly 40 years, he worked in insurance—an irony not lost on us now—but his true gift was connecting with people. To those who knew him, Pat could easily become your best friend. For those who never had the chance, meeting him was an unforgettable privilege. He saw the world with a candid clarity, and though you might not always have agreed with him, his perspective was uniquely his own.
Patrick Myers graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in social sciences. A lifelong Gamecock fan, he was a staunch supporter of his alma mater and a regular caller on the Paul Finebaum Show. He was as passionate about his disdain for the Clemson Tigers as he was about his love for the Gamecocks.
Pat had a magnetic personality, the kind of person you’d hope to sit next to at a bar, whether it was Carolina Wings, Shooters near the old Piggly Wiggly, or somewhere in the Vista or Five Points. If you were in Columbia, SC, between 1978 and the mid-2000s, there’s a good chance your paths might have crossed.
As we navigate this difficult time, we’re asking for help to cover the costs of Pat’s cremation and funeral services. Any assistance, no matter the amount, would mean the world to our family.
Pat, we love you and miss you deeply. You’re now reunited with Kip, Rowena, Mama, Papa, and Snookie. Rest easy, and keep heaven warm for us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Any excess funds will be donated to Patrick Myers Almamata University of South Carolina in his name.
