Aid Xochitl & Daniel after Home Loss from Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hi, we’re Cynthia and Helen,
We’re starting this GoFundMe Page for our aunt Xochitl and cousin Daniel, who lost their home of 20 years and all of their belongings due to the Eaton Fire. They were evacuated Thursday early in the morning suddenly, before they were able to gather any personally valuable and cherished items.
Our aunt immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico and strategically worked and saved hard to be able to purchase this home. We’ve seen our aunt work tirelessly to keep this home after becoming a widow over 15 years ago. Our aunt Xochitl worked up to 3 jobs at a time and often long hours to make sure she and my cousin had a roof over their head, and it’s just devastating to see that all gone. My cousin is deeply saddened by this loss as it was his childhood home and held many memories with his late father. Daniel has served his community greatly through his 8 years of service on the U.S. Marine Corps. They are now left to restart from scratch.
To the extended family this home was a place of gathering and full of love year round. Our aunt always made sure we knew her doors were open and a plate was always at the table.
Our family has lost two homes to the Eaton Fire, with 9 of our family members being impacted. While we’re fortunate to be able to offer our family food and shelter at the moment, we’d really appreciate the help of our greater community in helping Xochitl and Daniel through this challenging time to assist with needs that may not be covered by other sources of aid.
Thank you all in advance for your support!
