**Target says £5,500 but £1,500 has already been fantasticly raised for her medical needs buggy. The next £4k is for the dog! Many thanks!**
Elodie-Rose is a remarkable little girl who has had unbelievable medical journey full of ups and downs. An extremely traumatic event occurred in December involving Elodie-Rose and her regular feeding tube surgery. Her bowel was perforated and she ended up very sick for 4 months in the Evelina Children's Hospital, Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. She had to be venteleted with extremely high pressures to save her life which in turn gave her lung damage. She also received an invasive treatment called ECMO which saved her life but has long term effects which we are currently dealing with right now. All of this means that Elodie-Rose now lives her life on oxygen 24/7 and is dependent on a ventilator for breathing when she's asleep.
*UPDATE*
Since our most recent admission where we discovered Elodie-Rose has brain damage that affects her control of breathing, Elodie has suffered massively with post trauma and is deep into regression. She has regressed in multiple areas including losing what little speech she has, refusing to eat, finding little pleasure any anything and barely interacting or responding with anyone. She has become a shadow of her former self so we have decided to raise money to get her an assistance dog. This will aid Elodie massively on her road to recovery and will inject some much needed positivity into our house. The dog will be specially trained to sense when Elodie is going to have a seizure and will alert me and assist her. It will also be specially trained to assist her in public. We are yet to find out all the specific costs and are enquiring at this stage but from the information we have looked at so far we've costed a rough total of £4000.
Myself and my close friend are planning a huge walk to fundraise for this and we will be hopefully planning some smaller fundraising events too to build the pot up.
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know Elodies story! If you can't donate at this moment in time we completely understand, please do give us a share though to spread her story and help us bring the spark back to our scrumptious little girl!
Best wishes, Elodie-Rose & family! X
