Assistance for Brandice and her family

This GoFundMe is on behalf of Brandice and her family. Many of you know her from Grad school at Georgia State, her Ph.D. program in Arizona, or are just a good friend in passing. 
Brandice and her three children have left a domestic violence situation and are left without most of their belongings and are facing huge legal fees in seeking compensation as well as attorney fees to ensure that baby Ocean stays safe in custody with her mother.

Brandice’s children had the horror of seeing their mother hit  to the ground while holding their baby sister in front of them.  After Brandice filed police reports, Oceans dad vindictively listed their home for sale and refuses to answer the door for police so they can retrieve their belongings.  Everything from the children’s toys, books, and clothing to the few sentimental items Brandice had of her deceased father are lost.  Furniture and clothes can be replaced but baby books, photo albums, etc are lost. 

Brandice has spent 3,000 the past month on air bnbs while they searched for an apartment and are now paying for furniture, kitchen wares and clothing as well.  Additionally, Brandice now has to hire a civil attorney to seek compensation for their belongings.  She is already facing a $5000 retainer for the custody attorney to ensure that baby Ocean is kept safe.  At this time Brandice can not legally leave the state as she has filed for custody and has no family in Arizona.  All money will towards Brandice’s legal fees to ensure Ocean is kept safe with her.
