Assistance for Kim and Hank

On Saturday morning January 14th, Kim and Hank were in a near-fatal car wreck on Highway 97 near the outlet malls. The other driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, swerved to cross several lanes of traffic and struck Kim and Hank head-on. They had to be extracted from the vehicle with the jaws of life and were immediately taken to the hospital while the other driver at fault was able to walk away before being detained, booked and later indicted on 10 different charges. Kim had internal bleeding due to a ruptured spleen, cracked sternum, broken femur on her right leg, broken tibia/fibula on her left leg, and shattered ankle among other bruises. Hank suffered a broken arm, damaged knee, bruised ribs and concussion among other injuries. The first 24 hours were touch and go for Kim as they struggled to locate and stop the internal bleeding. Once that was taken care of she was rushed into surgery for repair of her femur that had pierced through her thigh, and temporary pins were placed in both legs. She had a 5-hour follow-up surgery on Monday and will be in the hospital for the time being until she is able to be transferred to an inpatient rehab facility. Hank has surgery on his arm this week and has limited mobility due to injuries to his leg. Both have a long road to recovery but are in good spirits all things considered. Kim won't be able to walk for a while and neither will be able to work in the near future. There will undoubtedly be a lot of unplanned expenses for which we are establishing the gofundme.
