Assistance for the Games family

My husband (Jorge Games) was driving home through Van Nuys, Ca when a group of 6
rioters/looters began yelling racial slurs at
him. They broke out 5 of 6 windows of our
truck and then began to hit him in the head
and face with a 2x4 until he went unconscious. A bystander woke him up after laying there
for several minutes. That’s when Jorge
realized he had been robbed of everything in
his pockets while he layed there unconscious. 

A block away he saw 20-30 LAPD officers (in a Wells Fargo parking lot/driveway) who
appeared to be holding a briefing. He begged
for help and medical assistance. Not one 
officer rendered assistance or even radioed
for paramedics as he was bleeding from the
face and head. They told him they didn’t work there and he needed to go to Van Nuys
Station. He repeated his request for
assistance and they told him to go away as
they shooed him away with their hand (one
male 2 stripe officer and one young looking
female officer). 

Jorge doesn’t remember driving home. When he got home I (Rebecca) immediately realized the severity of the injuries and crimes against him. I called 9-1-1.  Fire and rescue responded to our home and transported him to the
nearest trauma center. 

He had multiple abrasions, lacerations and
contusions to his face, head, arms and hands.  He was also diagnosed with a concussion. 

We were told his recovery would take up to
six weeks. 

Due to Covid19 we were both laid off (him as a business owner and me as a retired sergeant with the Sheriffs Department, now a teen
driving instructor) for the past 3 months and
causing financial hardship. 

We are trying to raise the deductible for our vehicle and financial assistance over the next 6 weeks
