Assistance for the Rodriguez Brothers

Donation protected
On August 3rd, Zachery and Jonah Rodriguez will go to court to try to save their home. Zachery has been able to hold onto his apartment and keep the lights on throughout the pandemic, even while contracting COVID twice and dealing with job insecurity and mental health issues. During the pandemic, Zachery was diagnosed with anxiety and depression as well as ADHD and OCD, aka dissociative personality disorder. It has taken time for him to get a handle on things but with the help of medication and counseling, he’s in a much better place now and has been able to get and keep a job. At the end of May, Zachery unexpectedly got a roommate, his brother Jonah. Just prior to moving in with Zachery, Jonah lost his job. Jonah was laid off from an office job during the pandemic, right after getting hired on permanent and full time. Jonah has Autism which causes him to struggle in certain work environments, so finding steady work again has been a struggle. Jonah is currently working as a casual employee at a retirement facility in his neighborhood and is looking for steady employment while trying to get help from the local center for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, such help takes more time than they are given right now. While both of the brothers are now gainfully employed at least part-time, they are facing an eviction for two months back rent. Their realty company is asking for $1,400 plus court fees. Zachery found a lawyer to help with this legal matter by using his resourceful nature and reaching out to every available avenue. Knowing that he needed money he didn’t have, Zachery instead bartered his time in exchange for the legal fees by assisting the attorney in finding new clients through flyer canvassing. In essence, the brothers will be heading to court in two weeks and need your help. Any amount of kindness would be greatly appreciated. Rest assured that they are the type of people to pay forward any assistance that they receive.

Update ~ Unfortunately, the realty agency was not willing to work with the boys. They have until August 17th to find a new place to live. Thank you for the outpouring of support. I’m keeping this up so that they can get any potential continued help with moving expenses.
