Assistance needed after Pit Bull Attack
Donation protected
My name is Benjamin Holbrook. On Friday, July 29, 2022, my 3-year-old Sheprador and I were attacked by an aggressive pit bull as we approached a 7-11 in Portland, Maine. The attack was completely unprovoked. Abigail, who is my assistance animal under the law, had to undergo expensive emergency surgery and is currently in recovery. The veterinarian informed me she was almost killed in the attack.
I am the choral director at Massabesic Middle School and the new Music Director at The First Parish Church in Portland. My positions require I play piano and organ. During the attack, I was bitten on my right hand and am currently experiencing swelling and numbness leaving me unable to carry out tasks with my dominant hand.
Due to a car accident earlier this summer, the high cost of rent, inflation, and this attack, my available funds have been depleted. I am concerned that it will take some time to recover my costs with the owner of the pit bull, if I may even collect from her at all. I am going to need some assistance to stay afloat until my bills are paid. I appreciate any compassionate donations you can contribute. Thank you.
