Assistance for Manuel Hurtado

On Monday October 23rd, our son Manuel and his girlfriend were involved in a severe motorcycle accident where he lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand. They were hit by a car; his girlfriend suffered a broken femur, but unfortunately, Manuel’s injuries were more serious.

Manuel fractured and dislocated multiple thoracic vertebrae and suffered a spinal cord injury. His outcome is unclear at this point, but luckily it did not sever the cord completely. He had surgery on his spine and has begun a long and painful rehab process to hopefully regain control and movement in the lower half of his body. His attitude through this whole situation has been fantastic, and we know that he will continue progressing during rehabilitation at Maharaj Nakorn Hospital in Chiang Mai.

At this time, we are asking for assistance to help cover miscellaneous costs such as but not limited to... high out-of-pocket medical expenses, months of intensive in-patient rehabilitation, possible post-recovery equipment, and funds to get him back on his feet as he adjusts to his new life.
