Assistant Dog Katie needs surgery
Donation protected
Assistant dog Katie needs cruciate ligament surgery.
Katie was initially placed with our family in 2014 to work alongside my son Jonathan who has Autism. She interrupted and prevented meltdowns from happening. She helped him through thunderstorms and helped grow more confident as a person. As Jonathan grew more independent and needed her less, I had been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis an inflammatory arthritis that affects young people and causes permanent physical disability I began relying on her more and more. Katie also helped me with PTSD and anxiety and panic attacks.
now Katie needs our help! After 10years of faithful service to our family she is now relying on us! She has injured her cruciate ligament and urgently needs surgery
we have Pet Insurance however we need to pay the vet upfront before we can claim money back. As per the terms and conditions of our pet insurance policy due to her age we get 65% of her eligible vet bills back.
We have decided to ask for help but make a commitment to assist two charities in the process
if you can assist by donating whatever you can afford until we reach the goal of $6000 as per our quote from the vet ( anywhere between ( $4689. - $5728 ) plus she’ll need to stay one night at the overnight emergency vet (estimated $500) - when I get my reimbursement from her pet insurance I pledge to donate $750 to the Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) and $750 to Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge Society (SCARS). This should leave enough for Katie to complete the required physio afterwards as well. Any additional funds left will be split between the two charities equally (for example if her surgery costs only $4689)
so in helping Katie you will also be helping two amazing animal charities
please help our girl Katie
thank you
