Assisting Dasha’s Family & Friends in Ukraine
Donation protected
I met Dasha for the first time this week in Tallahassee, Florida. As our conversation evolved, I learned that she was from the Ukraine. My heart dropped and my stomach sank. I gave her a hug.
Dasha’s personality is exactly how I envisioned the Ukrainian people to be: soft spoken, genuine, peaceful, and kind hearted.
As I continued to get to know Dasha, I learned that her parents and siblings are still sheltering in Ukraine. Dasha calls her family every day, checking to see if they are still alive. Imagine if this was your family, wondering every day if they have been killed. Dasha has lost friends to this war and told me stories about what her family and friends encounter daily. I was then able to learn from her about her beautiful hometown of Kyiv, Ukraine.
With the recent events of the war and humanitarian disaster in Ukraine, meeting her hit home to me. A lovely Ukrainian, kind but somber, right here in Tallahassee, Florida. I knew at that moment that I must help her and her family.
I asked Dasha what her family needs, she replied by saying that “anything will help and anything that my family doesn’t need, they will be sure to give it to others in Ukraine who do.” This speaks to the spirit and heart of the Ukrainian people.
Any donations that you provide will go directly to Dasha’s family and friends in Ukraine, who are still sheltering. The money we provide could mean the opportunity to change their lives for the good. A meal. An opportunity to leave the country. Medicine. Safety.
Please consider doing your small part to donate to these incredibly brave people.
I am honored to have had the opportunity to meet Dasha and admire her beautiful and courageous country.
