Humanitarian Relief: COVID-19 Appeal
UPDATE:
By providing your generous donations, Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq implemented a project that provided humanitarian aid to 150 Assyrian families in the villages of Hazarjot and Malabrwan, in the Aqra region of the Duhok governorate. The project is an initiative to support our people in the light of fighting the spread of Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The initiative included distribution of 59 food packages to the Malabrwan village and 91 food packages to the Hazarjot village on the 3rd August, 2020.
With global economies currently experiencing lock-down due to the COVID-19 crisis, our Assyrian people in Bet-Nahrain have been experiencing severe economic hardship. The lack of employment along with an insufficient governmental support system has proved to be a dire situation for our people in the homeland.
A large number of Assyrian families are in need of essential food supplies . With help from the Assyrian Aid Society Iraq, it is estimated that 300 families are in need of essential emergency relief food packages. Therefore, Assyrian Aid Society Australia aims to ensure that these Assyrian families are provided with food security and adequate nutrition.
The emergency relief food packages will be delivered to families across various towns and villages, including:
-Barwar
-Nahla
-Zakho
-Sapna
-Semele
-Aqra
-Diyana
The emergency relief food package includes essential food items such as:
-Rice
-Milk
-Cheese
-Canned Meat
-Sugar
-Cooking Oil
Each emergency food package costs $100 and ensures an Assyrian family with food security for a month!
Any donation will be significantly appreciated and will ensure our people in Bet-Nahrain are regularly provided with essential goods and services.
Thank you in advance for you support and generosity, and always remember to: Help us, Help Them!
