Astraea’s place- breaking the cycle, changing society

Imagine being trapped in an abusive situation with nowhere to go. No support. No safety. No way out.

Too many women and children stay in harms way because they have nowhere else to turn. Being controlled through violence, through coercion, manipulation, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse. Many have spent years believing they are trapped, not knowing it’s never too late to start fresh.

Astreaes Place will change that.

My name is Jennifer Middleton, and I am building Astreaes Place, a secure, self-sustaining sanctuary where survivors can escape, heal, and rebuild their lives with safety, dignity, and true independence. This includes women and children fleeing immediate danger, as well as those who have endured years—even decades—of control, not knowing freedom was possible.

A Safe Haven for All Who Need It

Leaving an abuser is not just about walking out the door. It’s about breaking free from the control, fear, and deep wounds that abuse leaves behind.

Many women stay because they’ve been made to believe they have no value, no options, no future beyond their abuser. Some have been financially trapped, isolated from support, or manipulated into thinking they can never make it on their own. Who can blame them- the help isn’t there.

Having been through the journey and hearing others journeys. There just isn’t enough support. There is no where to turn, there is no long term help and very little short term help. Woman just don’t have a chance and continue to stay, because they have no choice

Enough is enough. Woman need to be empowered. Children need to be safe and grow up knowing what is right and what is wrong. We need to grow future generations where children are raised to know compassion. We need to stop domestic violence from the start. Society needs to change and we need to break the cycle.
