We have a strong hatred towards Cancer! As many of you reading this also do!
In April 2019, our friend and dedicated member of our community, Rusty was grossly misdiagnosed and prescribed wrong medications by his doctor. In July, when Rusty went for a second opinion, he had surgery scheduled for August. During the follow-up appointment in September, the doctor’s reported advanced aggressive Cancer that was misdiagnosed as a UTI and allowed to linger for five months. Being treated with antibiotics, this worsened Rusty's immunity. Rusty now faces losing his bladder, prostate, and part of his colon.
Rusty is a longtime resident of the Desert, and a local construction project manager in the Desert for more than 30 years. Rusty also served our country in the US Air Force and in law enforcement and is an important part of the community. Those who know Rusty can speak to his integrity, character, and his dedication to hard work. Rusty has given millions of dollars' worth of work to his fellow Desert Contractors and Construction workers and would do anything to help anyone out! And now it's our turn to help Rusty during this tough time.
Rusty and his lovely wife Kim are fighting the fight and standing up to Cancer, but they are in desperate need of financial help – as you can imagine, the treatments and medical bills are costing them thousands of dollars!
These treatments are very expensive and very hard on Rusty's health therefore he can no longer work full time. The Cancer is rapidly spreading and already diagnosed in his Lungs, Scapula, Shoulder, Ribs, Pelvic Lymph Nodes, Bladder and now nose. Rusty recently had half of his nose removed and will need several extensive plastic surgeries. Rusty and his wife Kim were just starting to rebuild their lives. They had just bought their first home and life was on an uphill run - and then the Cancer struck!
We are a small community and want to help Rusty and Kim. We are working on hopefully putting together a Benefit Concert in the Desert to raise money for Rusty's medical expenses. We feel together we can help them stand for the fight against Cancer!
Let us all get behind Rusty and Kim! Let's help raise the funds needed to fight this battle and come out winners on the other side of this tragic event in their lives!
