Atamai Tutor Centre

Donation protected
The Atamai Tutor Centre has been set up as a response to inequalities in education, which have been exacerbated and amplified by the current pandemic. Children who lacked the resources to engage with online learning during the lockdown often come from communities already marginalised by an education system that recreates social and racial hierarchies. The centre is currently organised and staffed entirely by volunteers, and has been running since September, initially as a Saturday drop-in at the Baggator on All Hallows Road in Easton.

With the help of our amazing supporters and volunteers, we have recruited and trained a new cohort of tutors and have opened on Tuesdays as well as Saturdays.

Venue hire, and the provision of learning materials such as workbooks are other costs that we will not be able to afford  if we do not raise funds. If you can, please consider donating some money, and please share this page amongst your networks.

We will be working closely with local teaching unions and community organisations to refer young people who might benefit from the support we offer. To refer a young person, please fill out the following form online, or fill out a paper form by visiting the centre from 12-3:30 on Saturdays, or from 4-5:30 on Tuesdays: https://forms.gle/64ysdLXB14EVztJs8
