Hello, I am Jordan. I'm a nonbinary Muslim sapphic. I am neurodivergent (ocd) and neuroatypical (anxiety, social anxiety and depression). As a result, it is very hard for me to find a job because I currently do not have the mental stability to maintain working.
My mom is a single mom supporting 4 kids on her own and she is currently unemployed due to illness. I have to contribute to the bills since my mom is unable to work so we are really struggling financially. Evidently, there is no way she could afford to pay for any of us to go to university.
The only way I have any chance of being able to go to university is if I can pay for it myself, which is currently impossible as I have no income and no financial support from my mom. Last year, I got a scholarship to go to university so I didn't have to pay for the school fees, the only expense was accommodation. However, neither my mom or I could afford to pay for accommodation so I couldn't go, and I had to turn down my scholarship.
I have taken my entrance exam again this year for my dream university and I am 90% certain that I will be offered a scholarship again because the exam went really well. To go to university I would have to move out in September, but at the moment that it is not possible for me at all. I can't afford accommodation and my mom is in no position currently to give me any financial aid. I would need 1,000 euro to move out and get accommodation at university.
At the moment, I am nowhere near my goal and I have little time left to raise the funds before I lose my chance to go to university again. I have been trying to get into university for 4 years and I really hope this year I can afford to go. If I can't afford to support myself in university I will have to turn down my place again.
It would mean so much for me to finally be able to attend my dream university and move out. For safety reasons, I am closeted from my family so being stuck in this environment for another year would really damage my mental health.
