Help Joy create a fashion workspace for students.

Fashion and design has been my life for 25 years and after all these months of mask-making and reflection I feel the need to make some changes. In addition to my own creative and custom work I’m going to open my space up for teaching and workshops. I envision my south Minneapolis atelier a place of creative expression where small groups of individuals with a wide range of sewing experience can explore fashion and clothing construction. During these 4-week sessions I will be their guide, working beside them and helping them with their creative visions.
Before starting Joynoelle https://Joynoelle.com I began my career path as an art teacher and one of my loves of that job was watching others get lost in a project. I’m wanting to take my self-taught knowledge and share it with those who want to experience fashion as artistic expression.
In order to make this a reality I’m needing your help to transform my very loved studio.
The money I’m asking for will pay for individual work spaces, new lighting, a range of dress form sizes, industrial sewing machines and all the other things needed for cutting, sewing and draping. This will be a true creative atelier space where fashion and artistic vision can play.
Specific items needed and approximate cost of studio infrastructure. If my goal isn’t met I’ll make due with fewer of each item.
- 3 straight-stitch industrial machines with tables $1150 each= $3450
- 3 quality table top sewing machines $750 each=$2250
- 1 industrial 4-thread sergers $2100 each

- 1 Meile Ironing Systems $2500
