Atglen Sportsmen's club is proud to announce the start of their youth Scholastic 3D Archery (S3DA) program/team.
The mission of the Scholastic Archery Association, DBA Scholastic 3-D Archery, program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. Scholastic 3-D Archery will design, promote and foster national youth and high school 3-D and target archery competition as an after school program affiliated with educational learning institutions and sportsman’s clubs. T
he natural progression of our program allows students to grow and develop throughout their archery career and then move into the collegiate level. S3DA partners with the U.S. Collegiate Archery Association and USA Archery to ensure students a natural progression of the sport. These partners allow colleges across the nation to see the potential S3DA archers can bring to their archery programs. Students in S3DA have the opportunity to earn college scholarships based on their performance at S3DA events, regardless at a local, regional, state or national level. S3DA National events for 2019 saw students walk away with over $25 million in college scholarships, which does not event take into account the local, regional or state competitions across the nation.
While archery is largely an individual sport, S3DA programs promote team unity during practice and competition. For this reason, rules stipulate that shooters and coaches must have matching shirts/jerseys promoting the team/club they shoot for. We are having this fund raiser to raise money to purchase jersey for the current and future shooters that the program qualifies as S3DA shooters.
We have been put in contact with a great vendor DL Design that has done jerseys for other archery clubs offering a considerable discount along with no setup charges. Because S3DA involves youth shooters that continuously attract new participants, and growing shooters from 3rd grade elementary all the way to seniors in high school purchasing a bulk order of shirts will allow us to have shirts readily available as we develop and qualify new shooters, and have shirts available as shooters outgrow them over the years. DL Design's minimum order is 40 shirts. This amount of shirts would go a long way and serve the program well for many seasons. Please give what you can. We appreciate any support you may be able to give to help these kids have their uniforms for future competitions.
