30 years ago, and event, a happening took place in Athens, GA. The film that resulted inspired two generations of artists and musicians. 30 Years On the original filmmaker examines Athens 30 years later. Using Chris Marker's film Le Jolie Mai as a jumping off point, and a host of wonderful bands, old and new. This Athens update shows how Athens has remained an oasis for all those people who are progressive - intellectually, artistically and socially - in this special town in the middle of Georgia.
