Atom Willard's Motorcycle Accident Recovery

Our dear friend Atom Willard was involved in a motorcycle accident on August 13th, going from 45 miles an hour to a dead stop after being cut off by someone making a left turn. Thankfully he was wearing good riding protection which saved his life and injuries from being far worse, but still he sustained a broken thumb, hand and wrist that required surgery with plates and screws, four broken ribs, a broken collar bone, pulmonary contusion, broken toe, road rash, and a lot of bills and pain and stress. 

As you may know, beyond being an amazing husband, friend, dog-dad, and endearingly amateur comedian, Atom is a phenomenal drummer bringing incredible dimension and power to some of our most beloved songs. He’s played in Against Me!, Angels & Airwaves, Social Distortion, The Offspring, Rocket From The Crypt, and many more. Wow. I know.

As you can imagine, sustaining injuries of this scale when you’re a drummer and rely heavily on your body to make music and work can bring a lot of stress on top of the pain. Add to that a time so shortly after making music was a 2-year dry spell for most of us due to the pandemic... it's far from ideal.
