Atresia ani Surgery for Misha
You can make a difference by donating today to Itsie Bitsie Rescue Inc.
Misha is a honey-colored orange tabby with a heart of gold. He’s a clever cat who knows how to get into the food bag if you’re late with his dinner, how to get his favorite toys out of the bin when he wants them, and how to stand outside the bathroom door and cry if you’ve been in there too long. When Misha first arrived, we called him Mikhail (after chess grandmaster Mikhail Tal). But we quickly shortened it to Misha, a nickname for Mikail and means “honey” or “sweetheart,” because he’s got a sweetheart to accompany his brilliant mind.
But, this poor sweetheart has a rare condition called atresia ani. Now, you probably don’t know what that means, so let me break it down for you. Misha has one orifice out of which all his waste is expelled. Sometimes, he’s just fine; but in others, the urine irritates his bum. Imagine having a UTI, but all the time, and it hurts both when you urinate or defecate. He cries when using the litterbox and sometimes has leakage out of the bum.
A specialist at UC Davis will evaluate him and perform corrective surgery so he can continue to live a long happy life. But the medical bills will cost $3,500. Itsie Bitsie Rescue, Inc is determined to give Misha this surgery! But we need your help! Please consider donating!
Itsie Bitsie Rescue, Inc is 100% volunteer ran and driven- we have no paid staff. Our nonprofit Tax EIN number is 20-5201701. Bless you!!!
Any funds that do not go directly to Mishas surgery, will go back into the rescue for helping more kitten and puppy medical cases.
