Attempted Murder Recovery

Thursday, Oct. 28, my sister Ashley Gerstenberger was brutally attacked by her boyfriend as he attempted to kill her, as well as tried to attack her 17 year old daughter while her 7 year old watched.

 

As her family we are still reeling from the shock of the situation and at the same time support Ashley and her 3 kids. Ashley endured a long surgery last night and is back in surgery today but specifics of the injuries and recovery process are still being unraveled. She will be in ICU for the time being.

 

Ashley was trying to leave a bad situation with her children when this happened. She was to start a new job next week and was looking for a new home. The future was looking brighter until this tragedy occurred.

 

Our heads are still spinning but we know people want to help in whichever way they can, at this point that's uncertain until we have a good plan for Ashley's health. She is leaving a violent situation with next to nothing so anything will help at this point to get them through the time it will take to heal physically, and mentally. She's going to be trying to start her life over, dealing with trauma, her children's trauma, and medical bills.
