Attend the Student Veterans of America Convention

Hello! My name is Callie Chaffin, and I am a differently-abled Veteran and full-time student at the North Carolina University at Greensboro. I am an Officer in the Student Veterans of America association on campus, actively working with fellow Veterans and Dependents to revitalize our on-campus presence.

What is the SVA? Student Veterans of America (or SVA) is an on-campus association aimed at veterans to help "elevate the academic, professional, and personal development of veterans in higher education through chapter programs and services, outcomes and impacts research, and advocacy at every level. With a mission focused on empowering student veterans, SVA is committed to providing an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom." Having this support system in place has been a valuable comfort to me, and in my role as an Officer, I will extend that comfort to any and all student veterans.

This is where you come in! In January of 2023, the SVA will host its annual National Convention (or NatCon) for SVA members nationwide in Orlando, FL. This conference is a valuable opportunity for me to network with other SVA chapters nationwide to build and support my own chapter, learn from industry leaders' best practices, and hone my leadership skills.

As a full-time undergraduate student, my husband and I have minimal funds, and I need help getting to the convention. The funds you donate will go towards food, transportation to and from Orlando, FL, convention fees and hotel stay.
