Attica Wildfire Relief 2018
Donation protected
On July 23-24th, 2018, Greece was shaken by the tragic wildfires taking place in Attica. Over 90 people lost their lives, over 150 were injured, and several thousand homes were lost to the flames.
All the donations will be transferred to Desmos, a Greek non profit foundation working with national and local organizations, the affected municipalities, and civic initiatives to provide assistance in first aid responses, but also critically contribute in addressing the long-term needs of the afflicted areas and communities, ranging from support to fire and rescue brigades, social and medical services, psychosocial support to afflicted families and individuals, and recovery and rebuilding efforts.
The Yale Hellenic Society is proud to be working with the following groups to fundraise for the long-term needs of the survivors:
Orange Panhellenic Association (Princeton University)
The Greek Association at Johns Hopkins
Let’s stand together during this difficult time, we’re counting on you!
Thank you for your support!
